"We've got our eye on kitchens this year," says Show Director Cairey Baxter-Bruce. "Kitchens are the new hangout zones. It's not just about cooking anymore. It's about creating a melting pot of style and function. A space that can be both beautiful and practical. It's about effortlessly making the heart of your home something seriously cool."

This year's East Coast Radio + Garden Show confirms that the event will spotlight key developments in kitchen design, with an emphasis on creating fresh, functional living spaces. Trends on display include bold colour palettes, open shelving, statement fixtures and multifunctional kitchen islands.

Retro-inspired elements and the growing popularity of "office kitchens" will also be featured. Visitors will have the opportunity to gather practical tips, design ideas and industry contacts to assist with their own kitchen renovations or upgrades, says the event.

Visitors planning home renovations or upgrades will find a range of professional advice and products at this year's East Coast Radio House + Garden Show. The event confirms that exhibitors will include:

  • Mistrys, offering guidance on cabinetry and solid wood options
  • Cupboard Value, showcasing customised storage solutions
  • Veneer-It, presenting the latest in finishes and surfaces, and
  • The Michael House Kitchens, known for tailored craftsmanship and personalised service.

A key feature at this year's East Coast Radio House + Garden Show is The Kitchen Studio, a customised kitchen and cabinetry manufacturer. The company will present three exhibition stands highlighting contemporary kitchen designs and a full bedroom installation. According to the event, many of the materials used are responsibly sourced, biodegradable or natural, reflecting a commitment to sustainable design without compromising on aesthetic appeal.

In addition to showcasing design aesthetics, The Kitchen Studio will also highlight the integration of form and function through advanced kitchen technology. Features include remote-controlled extractors, concealed appliances and other innovations aimed at enhancing functionality and streamlining daily use. Select technologies will be demonstrated live at the show, adds the event.

Another key feature at this year's East Coast Radio House + Garden Show is the fully equipped Hirsch's Demo Kitchen. The event confirms that, in a special promotion, one visitor will have the chance to win the complete kitchen setup. This giveaway forms part of the show's broader effort to engage and reward attendees.

The event concludes that running from Saturday, 28 June to Sunday, 6 July at the Durban Exhibition Centre, the East Coast Radio House + Garden Show features daily demonstrations, food experiences and expo deals, all focused on home improvement and future-forward living.
